# Pulse Intelligence

> Full guide to running and interpreting AI workforce analysis

# Pulse Intelligence

Pulse Intelligence is Senzo's AI-powered workforce analysis engine. It synthesizes all of your organization's workforce metrics into a structured brief — automatically identifying warnings, strengths, wellbeing risks, and recommended actions.

## How to run it

Navigate to **Pulse Intelligence** in the sidebar. Click **Re-run Pulse** in the top right corner. Analysis typically completes in 15–30 seconds.

Pulse Intelligence analyzes your most recently uploaded period's data. Re-run it after each new data upload to keep findings current.

## Output structure

### Analysis Summary

The top card shows:

* **Date range analyzed** — the period covered by the analysis
* **Risk Level** — Low, Moderate, or High based on the number and severity of findings
* **Summary statement** — one-line description of overall workforce health

### Warnings

Metrics exceeding your configured thresholds. Each warning shows:

| Field                      | Description                                             |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Title | The condition detected (e.g. "Elevated Absence Levels") |
| Affected units | Which units are driving the warning |
| Status | Stable, Improving, or Worsening based on trend |
| Duration | How many consecutive months this has persisted |
| Current value vs threshold | The gap between current metric and threshold |
| Trend History | Monthly values for the last 4 periods |
| By Unit | Breakdown of the metric across all units |
| By Provider Type | Breakdown across provider types |
| By Sector | Breakdown across clinical sectors |
| Recommended Actions | Specific steps suggested by the AI |

### Strengths

Areas where workforce metrics are performing well — healthy net flow, strong fill rates, top-performing units. These are worth surfacing to leadership and replicating across the organization.

### Wellbeing Risks

Units flagged for elevated Burnout Risk Index scores. See [Burnout Risk Index](/core-concepts/burnout-risk-index) for how the score is calculated.

Each wellbeing risk shows:

* **Risk Score** (0–100)
* **Risk Level** — Low, Moderate, or High
* **Contributing factors** — which of the four BRI components are elevated

### Workforce Snapshot

Below the AI findings, Pulse Intelligence shows the raw workforce state for the analyzed period organized into three panels:

**Workforce Composition**

* Headcount, Positions, Filled FTE, Vacant FTE, Vacancy Rate
* An interpretation note generated by the AI based on the values

**Hours Summary**

* Worked hours, Overtime (with %), Agency (with %), Absence (with %), Scheduled
* An interpretation note

**Workforce Flow**

* Inflow HC, Inflow FTE, Transfer In FTE
* Outflow HC, Outflow FTE, Transfer Out FTE
* Net Change FTE
* An interpretation note

Below the snapshot panels, sector and unit breakdowns show headcount, FTE, OT rate, absence, and turnover for each sector and unit.

### Month-over-Month Changes

A row of key metrics showing the change vs the prior period:

* Headcount change
* FTE change
* OT Rate change (in percentage points)
* Absence Rate change (in percentage points)
* Outflow Rate change

## Exporting

Click **Export** to download the full Pulse Intelligence report as a formatted PDF. The export includes all findings, the workforce snapshot, and sector/unit breakdowns — formatted for board presentations and committee submissions.

## Configuring what Pulse Intelligence flags

Pulse Intelligence uses your configured thresholds to determine what constitutes a warning. To change what gets flagged, go to **Alert Rules → Rules** and adjust the threshold values. See [Thresholds and Alert Rules](/core-concepts/thresholds-and-alerts).

## Activity logging

Each Pulse Intelligence run is logged in your **Activity Feed** with a timestamp and the triggering user. This gives your team visibility into when analyses were completed.
